Vincent Walsh was raised in the
Adirondack foothills town of
Greenfield. It was here that he
explored the woods and waterways as
a boy, experiencing nature in its
most pure form: through youthful
eyes. Vince joined the Marine Corps
after high school and completed a
4-year tour, stationed in Hawaii.
While there, he was not only exposed
to military culture, but also Native
Hawaiian, Japanese, Philippine,
Portuguese and Samoan culture,
history and the Polynesian natural
environment as a whole. This
experience gave Vince great insights
into the natural world, our
collective human experience and what
a sense of place really meant.
Vince’s travels over the past two
decades have brought him through
much of North America, the
Polynesian islands of Hawaii,
Mexico and Thailand. |
