- Being green means utilizing
environmentally responsible products and
methods, thus minimizing ones’ total
impact upon the environment.
- Being sustainable means to
perpetuate something indefinitely. This
can only be accomplished when resources
are harvested and used in ways that
allow the resource to thrive and
replenish.
GREEN OIL
When using a chainsaw, it is imperative to
lubricate the chain to promote the longevity
of the bar and chain. However, when the saw
is in operation the lubrication is flung off
the rotating chain. Bar & chain oil is a
100% loss- directly into the environment.
Most every store in North America sells bar
& chain oil derived from petroleum. In most
European countries, it is a law to use
biodegradable lubricants for chainsaws.
Foothills Tree Service is proud to state
that we use 100% biodegradable lubricants in
all of our saws, from
Peaks & Prairies, LLC.
This is good for the environment, you, and
us.
RIGGING
There is an ancient Chinese proverb that
states: “The more you carry in your head,
the less you carry on your back”. At
Foothills Tree Service, we rely on ropes,
pulleys, friction devices, levers, and other
special tools designed for the tree care
industry. Our knowledge and experience can
tackle most any tree. Others in the tree
care industry rely solely on large trucks
and cranes, which use vast amounts of
resources to operate and transport. These
tools of the trade do have their place,
especially for large, hazardous trees in
tight spots. However, most trees can be
successfully taken care of with our low
impact methods and minimal equipment.
MATERIAL PROCESSING
We have at our disposal the right tools for
each job. Many jobs can be taken care of
with our small crew, trucks, trailers and
chippers. For large jobs requiring the
removal of many trees, it makes more
environmental sense to use larger equipment.
