We are more than a nature center,
and more than just a wilderness
school or outdoor learning center.
Being aware of our primitive past,
and the knowledge our ancestors held
is a doorway to another realm: one
full of knowledge, wisdom and
understanding. We incorporate this
theme in all that we do here. To put
it more simply, we honor the skills
and knowledge it takes to live as
natural, sustainable beings on this
planet. Minimizing the impact our
livelihoods have upon Earth,
including our food, energy use,
shelter requirements, travel,
recreation and products consumed all
tie back into our love of all things
natural.
We incorporate nature and
sustainable living practices in all
that we do. While at our facilities
and homestead, participants will be
immersed and exposed to tangible
practices they can incorporate into
their own lifestyles.
KCAC leads by example and teaches
from experience. We create a setting
where learning can take place, and
paradigmatic shifts in consciousness
can occur.
